The Rwandan delegation on a working mission to Togo held talks on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 February 2017 with members of the Reform Commission appointed last January by the Head of State, Faure Gnassingbé. These discussions continued on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 February respectively with representatives of the Institutions of the Republic, ministerial departments and civil society organisations, trade unions and the media.

riences in terms of reforms that have enabled their country to be an example cited by all today.

From the history of the genocide in Rwanda to successful decentralisation, including the reconciliation process and public administration reforms, there is a whole list of actions and mechanisms from which Togo can draw inspiration. Endogenous solutions drawn from local tradition and innovations that have enabled this people, deeply divided a few years ago, to regain its unity and begin its development.

For the Rwandan experts, their country’s case is not necessarily an example to copy and paste in Togo, but rather mechanisms that the country can adapt to its realities and, above all, return to the depths of local culture to bring out endogenous solutions around which Togolese people will come together.

The Rwandan mission ended this Saturday, 18 February 2017.
