As announced in a press release published on February 9, 2017, the Rwandan delegation set foot on Togolese soil this Monday afternoon, arriving from Kigali. The mission of this delegation to the High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN) will be to share their experiences in political and institutional reforms with Togolese state and non-state actors from February 13 to 18, 2017.

In accordance with a set programme, the Rwandan experts will first meet with Mrs Awa NANA-DABOYA, President of the HCRRUN, together with the Institution’s two other members, then respectively with the Reform Commission; the Institutions of the Republic; the ministries; civil society organisations and the media. These exchanges will focus on various points related to the implementation of reforms and will enable a broad understanding of the concept of political and institutional reforms related to public administration. Furthermore, these meetings will also aim to give meaning to the responsibilities set out and assigned to each ministerial and institutional department in the CVJR’s recommendations, and to explain the need for political consensus as a condition, among others, for a successful reform.

The delegation that arrived in Lomé this Monday afternoon is led by Professor Anasthase SHYAKA, CEO of the Rwanda Governance Board, and also includes Yves Bernard NINGABIRE, Director in charge of planning, monitoring and evaluation at the Ministry of Local Government; Bonaventure UWAMAHORO, Director in charge of modernising the civil service at the Ministry of Civil Service; Alphonse KARINGANIRE, Coordinator in charge of the unity and identity unit of the Rwandan diaspora, National Commission for Unity and Reconciliation; and Etienne NKERABIGWI, Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
