RECONCILIATION PROCESS IN TOGO: THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SUPPORTS THE HCRRUN
Members of the High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN) received, this Thursday, January 12, 2017, a visit from the United States Ambassador to Togo, His Excellency Mr. David Gilmour, accompanied by Mike Pryor, Public Affairs Officer at the Embassy.
The purpose of the visit focused on a project for a photo and film exhibition on the official visit of the late President Sylvanus OLYMPIO to the United States of America in March 1962.
According to the American diplomat, this exhibition constitutes a contribution by the Embassy of the United States of America to the reconciliation process in Togo, a mission entrusted to the HCRRUN.
This initiative by the Embassy of the United States of America in Togo is part of the implementation of the HCRRUN’s strategic plan, which provides for material reparations and an action to rehabilitate the late President Sylvanus OYMPIO.
Members of the High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening of National Unity thanked the American diplomat for this initiative, which is contained in Recommendation 46 of the CVJR and is, as such, included under Axis 2 of the HCRRUN’s strategic plan.
