Academic Manaf Alfa Boukari was laid to rest on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at the Muslim cemetery in Adétikopé, following funeral rites and prayers held at the residence of his late father, Alfa Boukari Traoré, in Tokoin Habitat, Lomé.
The previous day, Saturday, May 27, the academic community, HCRRUN, and several civil society and religious organizations paid tribute to him during a ceremony held at Amphitheater 500 on the North Campus of the University of Lomé. Numerous testimonies were shared in remembrance of his life and contributions.
Aged 36, Manaf Alfa Boukari was a doctoral student in Modern Literature at the University of Lomé and served as a resource person for HCRRUN. He died in a road traffic accident on Wednesday, May 24, while returning from a training seminar organized with GF2D.
