After a four-year mission in Togo, the Head of the European Union Delegation is preparing to conclude his term of office.
Nicolas Berlanga-Martinez chose Tuesday, 29 August 2017, to bid farewell to the High Commission for Reconciliation and the Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN). He was received by HCRRUN members and the entire staff in the presence of the media.
Presiding over the meeting, the Institution’s First Rapporteur, Mr. Wiyao Evalo, took the opportunity to thank the Ambassador for the work accomplished over the past four years and for his involvement in Togo’s socio-political life.
In turn, Mrs. Claudine Kpondzo-Ahianyo, Second Rapporteur of HCRRUN and former member of the CVJR, paid a heartfelt tribute to the EU Delegation in Togo, under the leadership of Nicolas Berlanga-Martinez.
“He opened the doors of European diplomacy to civil society and to all Togolese citizens,” stated Mrs. Kpondzo-Ahianyo.
For the European diplomat, this visit was an opportunity to pay tribute to the work of HCRRUN.“I came to thank them for their kindness towards me, but also to encourage them to continue their mission, which is so important for the future of this country,” he added.
