The President of HCRRUN, Mrs. Awa NANA DABOYA, met on Friday, May 19, 2017, with a delegation of lecturers from the University of Lomé at the institution’s headquarters, in the presence of Mr. Nicoué BROOHM, Minister of Higher Education and Research.

I have come to engage with the academic community, which constitutes a significant segment of the population and is capable of relaying information on the reparations process,” stated Mrs. Awa Nana Daboya, indicating that she had called on the academic community to commit to supporting HCRRUN in the fulfillment of its mission.

Mr. Octave Nicoué Broohm, Minister of Higher Education and Research, welcomed the visit by the President of HCRRUN and the delegation of resource persons accompanying her. He emphasized that the academic community, in all its components, must engage in this process, given that its members are also citizens of the nation. “Actions will be defined jointly by the university authorities and HCRRUN members to determine how the process will be conducted within the university community,” the Minister stated.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for the lecturers present to share their views on the reparations process and to put forward proposals aimed at achieving genuine reconciliation and enabling the Togolese people to live together in peace and harmony.
