The President of HCRRUN, Mrs. Awa NANA DABOYA, met this Friday, May 19, 2017, with a delegation of teachers from the University of Lomé at the institution’s headquarters, in the presence of Nicoué BROOHM, Minister of Higher Education and Research. “I came to engage with the academic community, which constitutes a significant segment of the population and is capable of relaying information about reparations,” said Mrs. Awa Nana Daboya, indicating that she had asked them to commit to supporting HCRRUN in its mission.
Mr. Octave Nicoué Broohm, Minister of Higher Education and Research, welcomed this visit by the President of HCRRUN and the delegation of resource persons accompanying her. He stated that academics in all their components must engage in this process, given that they are also citizens of the nation. “Actions will be defined by the university leadership and HCRRUN members to determine how the process will unfold within the university institution,” the Minister stated.
It should be noted that the meeting allowed the teachers present to share their views on the reparations process and to make their proposals for genuine reconciliation that will enable Togolese people to live in peace and harmony.
