On February 22, 2020, the presidential election will be held, an election that all Togolese people wish to see take place in a climate of calm, peace, and serenity.

As part of its mission and with a view to contributing to the peaceful conduct of the election, the High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN) organized, on Monday, February 3, 2020, a capacity-building session for the chairpersons and secretaries of the Local Peace Committees (LPCs), structures established to contribute to the prevention and peaceful resolution of conflicts in all prefectures of Togo.

The purpose of the session was to equip LPC members with the necessary tools and resources to enable them to raise greater awareness among the populations of their respective communities about the importance of a peaceful electoral process.

As a reminder, the Local Peace Committees (LPCs) are structures established within the framework of the West African project for the establishment of sustainable peace infrastructures, through a partnership between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Government, and HCRRUN.
