For a peaceful electoral process, the Local Peace Committees trained by HCRRUN
On February 22, 2020, the presidential election will be held, which all Togolese wish to see take place in calm, peace, and serenity.
As part of its mission, and with a view to contributing to a peaceful election, the High Commission for Reconciliation and the Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN) organized on Monday, February 3, 2020, a capacity-building session for the chairpersons and secretaries of the Local Peace Committees (LPCs), bodies established to assist in the prevention and peaceful management of conflicts in all prefectures of Togo.
The purpose for HCRRUN was to provide the members of the LPCs with the tools and means to enable them to better raise awareness among the populations of their respective communities on the necessity of a peaceful election.
As a reminder, the Local Peace Committees (LPCs) are structures established, within the framework of the West African project for the installation of a sustainable peace infrastructure, by UNDP and the government in collaboration with HCRRUN.
