Press release

As part of its mission to implement the reparation programme, the High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN) will hold two compensation sessions for individual victims in the Plateaux and Kara Regions from December 7 to 12, 2020.

To this end, the HCRRUN invites victims whose names have been posted at their respective prefectures and town halls or published on the institution’s website (www.hcrrun-tg.org) to report to the designated locations on the dates indicated, in accordance with the following schedule:

As with previous operations, victims are requested to present one of the following valid identification documents:

  • Passport;
  • National identity card;
  • Driving licence;
  • Or, failing that, a valid voter card issued in 2018.

Furthermore, the HCRRUN informs the public that the compensation operations will be conducted in strict compliance with COVID-19 preventive measures, namely:

  • Wearing a face mask is mandatory to access the compensation sites;
  • Handwashing is mandatory for anyone accessing the compensation sites. Handwashing stations will therefore be installed at all entrances to the compensation sites;
  • Temperature checks are mandatory for anyone accessing the compensation halls;
  • Victims scheduled to receive compensation will be received in groups of 15 and seated at appropriate distances in accordance with social distancing measures;
  • Sick or elderly victims may be accompanied by only one person.

Finally, the HCRRUN asks victims whose names have not yet been published to exercise patience and understanding, as no person selected for the reparation programme will be forgotten.
