HCRRUN Compensated Displaced Persons from Atchinèdji During the Construction of the Nangbéto Dam

From July 26 to 31, 2021, HCRRUN organized a compensation session in Anié, approximately 180 km from Lomé, for the people of the Atchinédji canton and surrounding areas who were displaced during the construction of the Nangbéto Dam.
Nearly one thousand people whose statements had been submitted to the CVJR received compensation from HCRRUN as part of the implementation of the reparation programme.
The purpose of this initiative was, first and foremost, to provide the support of the Togolese State to the displaced populations for the hardships and disruptions caused by the hydroelectric dam project on the Mono River. Each victim or beneficiary received a cheque, the amount of which had been determined by the CVJR.
