IMPLEMENTATION OF THE REPARATION PROCESS: HCRRUN PROVIDED WITH A START-UP FUND OF TWO BILLION CFA FRANCS

The 2017 Finance Act, passed by the National Assembly on 27 December 2016, allocated CFAF 2 billion for the implementation of the Reparations Programme. Through this allocation, the State intends to enable HCRRUN to launch one of the components of its Strategic Plan, namely the reparations for victims identified by the CVJR.This allocation marks the beginning of the Government’s commitment, under the leadership of the Head of State, to fostering a peaceful social climate.

Members of HCRRUN welcome this Government allocation and commend the Head of State’s stated commitment to making the necessary resources available to the Institution for the fulfilment of its mission.

It should be recalled that, according to the assessments carried out by HCRRUN on the basis of data inherited from the CVJR, the entire reparation process is estimated at approximately 35 billion CFA francs.

Tasked with implementing the CVJR’s reparations recommendations and the Reparations Programme, HCRRUN’s primary mission is to contribute to strengthening social cohesion and to promoting peace and national reconciliation in Togo.
