The members of HCRRUN received in audience this Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at the Institution’s headquarters, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Togo, H.E. Mr. David R. GILMOUR. The American diplomat stated that he had come to pay a courtesy visit to the High Commissioner for Reconciliation and Strengthening of National Unity and to inquire about the progress of HCRRUN’s mission.
In thanking her guest, Mrs. Awa NANA, surrounded by the two Rapporteurs, Mr. Evalo WIYAO and Mrs. Claudine KPONDZO-AHIANYO, briefly explained the dynamics in which her institution was created, the actions carried out to date, and those in perspective. She notably officially informed Mr. GILMOUR of the holding of the workshop for reflection and exchange on political and institutional reforms, to be held from July 11 to 15 in Lomé.
The American Ambassador, who was accompanied by his Political Advisor Mr. Stephen MANNING, expressed his country’s commitment to supporting the Togolese State in general and HCRRUN in particular in its mission by supporting the implementation of various lines of the strategic plan.
