The Special Representative of the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue Visits HCRRUN
- Nkurikiye Freddy, Special Representative for West and Central Africa of the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HDC), visited the Members of HCRRUN on Friday, October 18, 2019, at the Institution’s headquarters in Lomé. The discussions during this meeting focused on the concrete activities that his Organization will undertake to support the local mediation work that HCRRUN is conducting through the strengthening of Local Peace Committees. “The HDC, with the support of UNDP under the Peacebuilding Programme, will support all this activity led by HCRRUN,” stated Mr. Nkurikiye.
What is important in this work, according to him, is not only to heal the wounds but also to ensure that violence does not resume and that the wounds are not reopened. ” It is in this context that we are all mobilizing, both in Togo and the friends of Togo, to achieve this,” he added.
