The 2018 edition of International Women’s Rights Day was commemorated in various ways nationwide by women’s organisations in Togo. Beyond reflection, some organisations paid tribute to women who make Togo proud through their work, such as the evening event ” Woman Night” by the Eclat d’étoile agency and an exhibition on the theme ” Top Ladies, our icons, our references” on women leaders and pioneers who have made their mark in their fields of activity, organised by the Zonta clubs.
These events, held respectively on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 March 2018, paid tribute to Mrs Awa Nana-Daboya, President of the HCRRUN.
An international magistrate, the first woman President of Togo’s Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) and currently Ombudsman of the Republic, Awa Nana-Daboya was awarded a certificate for her work by the Eclat d’étoile agency, and a trophy as a woman leader and pioneer by the Zonta clubs.
Several other women leaders and pioneers, or women who make the country proud in their field of work, were also honoured during these events.
