The High Commissioner for Reconciliation and Strengthening National Unity (HCRRUN) has set up operations since this Monday, April 9, 2018, in Kpalimé for the compensation of non-vulnerable victims of 2005 from the Kloto, Agou, and Kpélé prefectures. The team will continue this compensation process in the region, specifically in Dayes, starting Wednesday, April 11.

Approximately 310 victims are expected at this stage. For Mrs. Awa Nana-Daboya, President of HCRRUN, the purpose of these compensations is to demonstrate that these victims have a recognized status: ”  recognizing a person to whom a wrong has been committed as having the status of a victim, and committing to provide reparation—while knowing that what is broken cannot be fully repaired, the commitment to provide some measure of relief is a good thing.”
