Journalists and radio and television presenters trained by HCRRUN for better support
Following the training workshops for print journalists held on Monday, November 12, and Tuesday, November 13, and for online journalists on Thursday, November 15, and Friday, November 16, journalists and presenters from radio and television stations in Lomé and the Maritime Region are now participating in a training workshop on the principles of transitional justice. Organised by HCRRUN with financial support from UNDP, the workshop aims to strengthen the capacities of approximately fifty audiovisual media professionals to better support the Institution in the implementation of its mandate.
A total of 200 journalists representing all categories of media from across the national territory will be trained through this series of workshops, which will continue on Friday, November 23, and Saturday, November 24, in Kara for media professionals from the country’s inland regions.
In her opening remarks, the President of HCRRUN, Mrs Awa Nana Daboya, welcomed the participants, expressed her appreciation to the media for their support of the Institution, and reaffirmed HCRRUN’s commitment to providing journalists with all the information and resources necessary to enable them to effectively fulfil their role as conveyors of information and educators of the public.
