HCRRUN concluded the compensation of non-vulnerable victims in the Maritime region this Friday, April 6, 2018, with a press briefing following the Tsévié phase.
The two HCRRUN rapporteurs, Mr. Wiayo Evalo and Ms. Claudine Ahianyo-Kpondzo, at the end of this meeting with the media, stated that ” the mid-term assessment promises good prospects, particularly regarding the population’s adherence, and especially that of the victims“.
According to Mr. Wiyao Evalo, First Rapporteur, ” Across the Maritime region, out of 460 expected victims, approximately 300 were compensated with a satisfaction rate of about 90%“.
For the Municipality of Lomé and the Prefecture of Avé, out of a total of 144 identified non-vulnerable victims, ninety (90), or 62.5%, were compensated, resulting in a victim satisfaction level of 72%.
Regarding the Prefectures of Vo, Lacs, and Bas Mono, which totaled 180 victims, 133, or 74%, received their compensation with a satisfaction level of 95.7%.
In the Prefectures of Zio and Yoto, where 136 victims were expected, 78 victims, or 57.3%, received their compensation. Concerning the level of satisfaction, it appears that 97.4% of the covered victims expressed satisfaction with the process.
The HCRRUN members were therefore pleased with the victims’ level of satisfaction, as it demonstrates their adherence to HCRRUN’s mission and to the reconciliation that all Togolese people desire.
It should be noted that the compensation for non-vulnerable victims, which began on March 20 and will continue in the Plateaux and Kara hubs, falls within the framework of the first allocation of two billion granted by the State for the 2017 fiscal year.
