Launch of the second phase of HCRRUN’s mission / The reparation process to be launched soon
As part of its mission, the High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN) is beginning the implementation of the reparation program on Friday, March 24, 2017, with a launch event. Indeed, following the allocation of a fund of two (2) billion CFA francs by the Government to begin reparations, the Institution responsible for implementing the recommendations and the reparation program developed by the CVJR will enter the actual phase of the second component of its strategic plan, namely, reparations.
A series of activities are planned in this context. Following the launch ceremony, the objective will be to inform and engage in dialogue to secure the support of the population and victims for their participation in the reconciliation process, to inform them about the concept of reparation and the symbolic nature of reparations in transitional justice. The next step will be to organize purification ceremonies throughout the territory and in all prefectures, and finally proceed to the compensation phase itself.
