Implementation of the reparations programme / HCRRUN, the Government, religious leaders and traditional chiefs prepare the purification ceremonies
The Reparations Programme launched by HCRRUN on 24 March 2017 continues with preparations for the organisation of the purification ceremonies.
Following the regional information and exchange tour held from 10 to 31 May 2017, HCRRUN met on Friday, 2 June 2017, with delegations from the four religious denominations recognised by the Togolese State, as well as representatives of the various ministries involved in organising these ceremonies.
During this meeting, the aim was to jointly examine the strategies to be implemented so that Togo could be genuinely purified, in accordance with Recommendation 47 of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission.
A broader preparatory meeting is scheduled for 8 June 2017 at the Agora Senghor in Lomé to enable the stakeholders involved in this process to harmonise their views on these purification ceremonies.
The President of HCRRUN, Mrs. Awa Nana-Daboya, welcomed the commitment of each stakeholder and thanked them for their support in ensuring the success of her Institution’s mission.
