Approximately fifty journalists and radio presenters from the country’s inland regions are participating in a training workshop held in Kara on Friday, November 23, and Saturday, November 24, 2018. Organised by HCRRUN in partnership with UNDP, this workshop follows the series of training sessions launched in Lomé on Tuesday, November 13, and aims to strengthen the capacity of media professionals to better support the reparations programme, particularly its compensation component.

Over the two-day workshop, participants will attend presentations on transitional justice, the origins and mandate of HCRRUN, the practical implementation of medical and psychological care and compensation, as well as the role of journalists in supporting HCRRUN’s mission.

Following the first phase of compensation, which took place from December 2017 to September 2018, HCRRUN launched the second phase on November 27, beginning with the care and compensation of vulnerable victims.
