Non-Vulnerable Victims of the Maritime and Plateaux Regions Served by HCRRUN from February 11 to 16
As announced in a statement issued last week, the High Commission for Reconciliation and the Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN) is continuing its compensation programme for victims in the Maritime and Plateaux Regions from 11 to 16 February 2019.
This second phase of the compensation programme, which began in December 2018 with vulnerable victims in Lomé, is now being extended to non-vulnerable victims from the Maritime and Plateaux Regions. According to Mr. Wiyao Evalo, First Rapporteur of HCRRUN, this phase is being implemented through the allocation of CFAF 5 billion provided by the Government of Togo under the 2018 national budget.
A HCRRUN delegation led by the Second Rapporteur will be in Aného from 11 to 13 February to compensate non-vulnerable victims from the prefectures of Lacs, Bas-Mono, and Vo. The delegation will then travel to Kpalimé from 14 to 16 February to serve victims from the prefectures of Kloto, Agou, Kpélé, and Dayes.
At the same time, the delegation led by the First Rapporteur will be in Atakpamé from 11 to 16 February to receive and compensate victims from the prefectures of Ogou, Anié, Amou, Akébou, Wawa, Est-Mono, Haho, and Moyen-Mono.
Part of the CFAF 5 billion allocation will also finance the launch of community reparations programmes and tribute initiatives honouring distinguished figures in the nation’s history.
Following the completion of this phase in the Maritime and Plateaux Regions, HCRRUN teams will continue the compensation programme in the country’s northern regions, where non-vulnerable victims will also receive reparations.
