A delegation from HCRRUN, comprising President Ms. Awa Nana-Daboya, Assistants Ms. Mbrou Antoinette and Mr. Azoumaro Blaise, Communications Officer Mr. Adry Bonchemin, and Resource Person Ms. Saya Akoua, met on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, with the Director of the National Orthopedic Appliance Center (CNAO), Mr. Lakna Tokpessa Innocent, who was assisted by his Deputy, at the Center’s premises in Lomé.
The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the two institutions to ensure better support for victims referred by HCRRUN to the Center as part of the Reparations Program.
As this support involves helping to alleviate the trauma experienced by certain victims through the provision of orthopedic appliances, including prostheses, HCRRUN deemed it necessary to strengthen its relationship with the Center in order to improve the efficiency of the services provided at reasonable costs.

In his welcome address, Mr. Lakna expressed his pleasure at receiving the HCRRUN delegation and presented the various departments and units of the Center, including those represented in the regions. He explained that the high cost of orthopedic appliances is due to the fact that they are ordered from abroad and delivered in separate components before being assembled at the Center in Lomé. He nevertheless assured HCRRUN of the Center’s commitment to providing the best possible services within its means.
Following the discussions, the HCRRUN delegation visited the various departments of CNAO, including the Appliance Service, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Service, Speech Therapy and Rehabilitation Service, Psychology Service, and Ergonomics Service.
The President of HCRRUN commended the Center’s management for its efforts to provide timely motor and mechanical assistance to the victims referred to the institution.
