The Special Representative of the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue Visits HCRRUN

Mr Nkurikiye Freddy, Special Representative for West and Central Africa of the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD), visited the Members of the High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN) on Friday, October 18, 2019, at the Institution’s headquarters in Lomé.

The discussions focused on the concrete activities that the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue will undertake to support HCRRUN’s local mediation efforts through the strengthening of the Local Peace Committees.

“With the support of UNDP under the Peacebuilding Programme, HD will support all these activities led by HCRRUN,” stated Mr Nkurikiye.

According to him, the objective is not only to heal the wounds of the past but also to prevent the recurrence of violence and ensure that old wounds are not reopened.

“It is in this spirit that we are all mobilizing, both in Togo and among Togo’s partners, to achieve this objective,” he added.
