From 7 to 19 May 2018, HCRRUN compensated non-vulnerable victims identified under the first phase of the reparations programme relating to the 2005 events in Atakpamé. The beneficiaries came from the prefectures of Ogou, Amou, Wawa, and Akébou.
In this area of the Plateaux Region, 759 victims were expected, of whom 530 responded to the call. A month earlier, the HCRRUN delegation had carried out compensation activities in another part of the Plateaux Region, covering the prefectures of Kloto, Danyi, Kpélé, Agou, Haho, Moyen-Mono, Anié, and Est-Mono. Out of an estimated total of 1,244 victims for the entire region, approximately 975 victims received compensation.
HCRRUN will continue its compensation activities in the Kara Hub, which comprises the Savanes, Centrale, and Kara Regions. The Institution calls on victims of the 2005 events residing in this area to actively participate in the upcoming operations to ensure their successful implementation.
