506 victims out of 682 compensated, with 98.5% satisfaction in the Savanes, Kara and Centrale regions
HCRRUN concluded the first phase of compensation for non-vulnerable victims of the 2005 events on Saturday, June 23, 2018. The conclusion was marked by a press briefing held in Sotouboua following the final compensation session organised there for victims from the prefectures of Sotouboua and Blitta.
The compensation operations for Pole I began in Dapaong on June 4, continued in Mango on June 6, in Kara from June 7 to 13, in Sokodé from June 18 to 20, and concluded in Sotouboua from June 21 to 23. A total of 682 victims across these three regions were expected to receive compensation.
By the end of the operations, 506 victims had been located and compensated. According to Mr Wiyao Evalo, First Rapporteur of HCRRUN, the participation rate for this pole reached 74.19%, while the overall satisfaction rate was estimated at approximately 98.5%.
According to HCRRUN’s programme of activities, additional compensation operations would be carried out in the coming months.
