Office of the Ombudsman of the Republic / Former Air Afrique Agents in Togo Receive Their Entitlements
In the exercise of her functions as Ombudsman of the Republic, the President of HCRRUN, Mrs. Awa Nana Daboya, proceeded this Wednesday, November 28, 2018, to the payment of entitlements due to former Togolese agents of the Air Afrique company in liquidation, in execution of Judgments No. 012/08 of March 6, 2008 and No. 29/08 of September 4, 2018 of the Court of Appeal of Lomé.
In this regard, the Office of the Ombudsman of the Republic convened these former agents of the Pan-African airline company and briefed them on the procedure followed which led to the effective payment of their entitlements to date.

Thus, out of an amount of more than 196 million CFA Francs in entitlements, interest and principal due to them, the Togolese State released 124,523,974 CFA Francs which were paid to them as principal entitlements due, pending the balance for damages and interest.
Established in the early 1960s, the Pan-African airline company experienced glorious periods until the late 1970s before encountering management difficulties following various oil shocks and the devaluation of the CFA Franc in 1994. Declared bankrupt in February 2002, it was placed in judicial liquidation in April of the same year.
In so doing, the Ombudsman of the Republic acted in accordance with her attributions as set forth in Article 8, paragraph 2 of Organic Law No. 2003-21 of December 9, 2003 on the Status and Attributions of the Ombudsman of the Republic.
