While the compensation session for non-vulnerable victims was underway from July 22 to August 10, HCRRUN issued a statement warning that individuals involved in fraudulent practices would be publicly identified and held accountable before the competent judicial authorities. According to the statement, “it has been observed that certain officials and agents of prefectures and courts issue documents to victims on the basis of false information in exchange for payments ranging from 5% to 10% of the compensation amount.”
Following the detection of several such cases, HCRRUN issued this warning to deter anyone intending to engage in such fraudulent practices.
Compensation sessions continued in Sotouboua for the Central Region and in Atakpamé for the Plateaux Region until the end of that week.
