During a press conference held at its headquarters, the High Commission for Reconciliation and National Unity (HCRRUN) unveiled the measures it intends to implement to reconcile the Togolese people.
Established by presidential decree in March 2015, and with the main mission, according to the government, of working towards the implementation of the recommendations of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Committee (CVJR), HCRRUN has put in place strategies to cover two years.
According to Kossi Kodjo Ezoba, a member of the HCRRUN committee, their 2016-2018 strategy will primarily revolve around three main axes.
He emphasized the first axis, which is the appropriation and adherence of the population and stakeholders to the implementation of the CVJR’s reparation program.
Furthermore, the High Commissioners will not only focus on constitutional and institutional reforms, but also on actions initiated by the CVJR.
“In all three cases, our aim will be to create favorable conditions for the implementation of the 68 recommendations of the CVJR, and to implement a program of material and immaterial reparations. To promote the formulation and implementation of constitutional and institutional reforms,” declared
HCRRUN President, Awa Nana.
