Of all the localities that experienced socio-political unrest in Togo, Atakpam\u00e9 was one of the epicenters of violence in 2005. This is why the HCRRUN has approached this stage with great sensitivity and care for the victims.  <\/p>\n<p>At the opening of operations this Monday, May 7, 2018, the President of the HCRRUN, Mrs. Awa Nana-Daboya, took the opportunity to urge patience among victims who have not yet found their names on the list, explaining that this is only a first wave of compensation and that other lists of names will follow as the State makes funds available to her institution.<\/p>\n<p>Administrative, civil, traditional, and religious authorities who participated in this launch ceremony in Atakpam\u00e9 also called on victims for forgiveness and reconciliation.<\/p>\n<p>Also noted was the presence of Monseigneur Nicod\u00e8me Barrigah-B\u00e9nissan, Bishop of Atakpam\u00e9, and Togbui Agokoli IV, President of the Traditional Chiefs of Togo, both of whom are respectively president and member of the Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation Commission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nearly a thousand victims are expected for this first wave of compensation for non-vulnerable victims, which opened this morning at the social affairs office in Atakpam\u00e9, covering the prefectures of Ogou, Amou, Wawa, and Ak\u00e9bou.
