The High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN) opened on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in Lom\u00e9, a series of capacity-building workshops for media professionals with a view to better supporting the reparations program. Organized with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), these workshops aim to equip media actors in preparation for the next stage of compensation and victim support.<\/p>\n
For this first two-day session, print media journalists were trained on various topics including: Transitional justice, the genesis and mandate of HCRRUN, the stages of victim support, and the role of journalists in supporting the process.<\/p>\n
The same topics will be developed on Thursday, November 15 and Friday, November 16 for online media journalists, on Tuesday, November 20 and Wednesday, November 21 for radio and television journalists from the capital and the Maritime region. The HCRRUN team will then deploy to Kara on November 23 and 24 to train journalists from media outlets in the country’s interior regions.<\/p>\n
