Five of the seven local peace committees from the Savanes region opened the series of workshops that will be held until June 2, 2022, with the participation of LPCs from each of the other regions of the country.<\/p>\n\n<p>During these meetings, the consultants who conducted the LPC evaluation studies will share the conclusions and recommendations of this work with the members of these structures.<\/p>\n\n<p>The work will particularly focus on reminding LPC members of their role and mission, sharing with them the strategy for their restructuring, and preparing them to support this restructuring.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/hcrrun_atelier_restitution_clp_mai_2022.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9143\" width=\"600\" height=\"321\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/hcrrun_atelier_restitution_clp_mai_2022.jpg 640w, https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/hcrrun_atelier_restitution_clp_mai_2022-300x160.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p>The President of HCRRUN, Mrs. Awa Nana Daboya, officially opened the work of this series of workshops. She was accompanied by the Special Advisor to the Institution, former Prime Minister Joseph Kokou Koffigoh, and the two rapporteurs Dr. Wiyao Evalo and Mrs. Ahianyo-Kpondzo Claudine.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Local Peace Committees, as peace infrastructures, were established by UNDP in November 2016 and placed under the supervision of HCRRUN. Since their establishment, HCRRUN has involved them in the accomplishment of its mission.<\/p>\n\n<p>After nearly five years of operation, and given the requirements of new global challenges related to human security and the health situation, and faced with the non-operationality of certain Local Peace Committees, HCRRUN commissioned an evaluation of the action and effectiveness of these structures in the field with a view to their restructuring for a more efficient impact in their mission of supporting local communities in conflict prevention and management. The evaluation of the LPCs reveals significant weaknesses in these structures and therefore the need to restructure them and strengthen their capacities in various areas to enable them to effectively fulfill their role in their communities.
