class=\"wp-block-image size-large\">\r\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd wp-block-paragraph\">The High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN) has launched the <strong>fifth phase of the Reparations Programme<\/strong> for victims of politically motivated violence and gross human rights violations that occurred in Togo between <strong>1958 and 2005<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p>While many registered victims have already benefited from the programme, others whose names remain in the HCRRUN database continue to await their compensation in accordance with the recommendations of the <strong>Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (CVJR)<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"346\" <strong>20 June 2022<\/strong> and was launched simultaneously at two locations:<\/p>\r\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\r\n<li><strong>Amadahom\u00e9 Youth Centre, Lom\u00e9<\/strong>, for beneficiaries from the <strong>Golfe, Ago\u00e8-Nyiv\u00e9 and Av\u00e9 Prefectures<\/strong>;<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Departmental Directorate of Social Affairs, Atakpam\u00e9<\/strong>, for beneficiaries from the <strong>Ogou, Agou, Kp\u00e9l\u00e9, Kloto and Danyi Prefectures<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The exercise subsequently continued from <strong>24 to 27 June 2022<\/strong> in <strong>An\u00e9ho<\/strong> for beneficiaries from the <strong>Lacs, Bas-Mono and Vo Prefectures<\/strong>, before concluding from <strong>28 to 30 June 2022<\/strong> in <strong>Ts\u00e9vi\u00e9<\/strong> for beneficiaries from the <strong>Zio and Yoto Prefectures<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Overall, approximately <strong>1,600 victims<\/strong> were scheduled to benefit from this phase of the Reparations Programme.<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/en\/?page_id=10146\"><strong>Who Is Eligible for the Reparations Programme?<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Eligibility for the Reparations Programme is determined in accordance with <strong>Recommendation No. 34<\/strong> of the <strong>Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (CVJR)<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Under this recommendation, beneficiaries include:<\/p>\r\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\r\n<li>Any person, regardless of nationality, who suffered harm as a result of politically motivated violations or gross human rights violations committed in Togo between <strong>1958 and 2005<\/strong>;<\/li>\r\n<li>Any person who suffered physical or psychological injury, moral harm, material loss, or a serious violation of their fundamental rights as a result of acts or omissions constituting gross human rights violations.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">To be eligible, beneficiaries must have been previously identified and registered by the <strong>Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (CVJR)<\/strong> during its official registration process.<\/p>\r\n<p>Through the continued implementation of the Reparations Programme, HCRRUN remains committed to restoring the dignity of victims, promoting reconciliation and contributing to lasting peace and social cohesion in Togo.<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph
