{"id":9856,"date":"2017-04-20T17:40:03","date_gmt":"2017-04-20T17:40:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/support-for-the-implementation-of-the-reparations-program-hcrrun-and-the-usa-unveil-sylvanus-olympio\/"},"modified":"2017-04-20T17:40:03","modified_gmt":"2017-04-20T17:40:03","slug":"support-for-the-implementation-of-the-reparations-program-hcrrun-and-the-usa-unveil-sylvanus-olympio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/en\/support-for-the-implementation-of-the-reparations-program-hcrrun-and-the-usa-unveil-sylvanus-olympio\/","title":{"rendered":"Support for the implementation of the reparations program \/ HCRRUN and the USA unveil Sylvanus Olympio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The esplanade of the Palais des Congr\u00e8s in Lom\u00e9 will serve as the venue from April 26 to May 26, 2017, for an exhibition on the official visit of the late President Sylvanus OLYMPIO, the Father of Togo&#8217;s Independence, to the United States of America on March 22, 1962.<\/p>\n<p>This emerged from the discussions held this Thursday, April 20, 2017, between the Members of HCRRUN, who received in audience HE David Gilmour, US Ambassador to Togo, accompanied by two of his colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>This exhibition is part of the support for the implementation of the reparations program and in accordance with recommendation 46, which stipulates that &#8221;&nbsp;<em>the TRC recommends that a tribute be paid to certain deceased figures who held important positions of responsibility and served the Togolese nation \u2026 <\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This courtesy and working visit provided an opportunity to discuss the organization of this exhibition of documents and photos concerning the first president of Togo.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7569 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Amba-USA-566x377.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"465\" height=\"310\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Amba-USA-566x377.jpg 566w, https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Amba-USA-390x260.jpg 390w, https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Amba-USA-103x68.jpg 103w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 465px) 100vw, 465px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For the United States Ambassador, &#8221;&nbsp;<em>This exhibition will show the historical links that exist between our two countries and will contribute to the effort of rehabilitating the image of certain figures by HCRRUN.
