An estimated one thousand participants from the Ago\u00e8-Nyiv\u00e9 prefecture and surrounding localities attended the session and listened to the message of peace and forgiveness delivered by the HCRRUN delegation, led by its President, Mrs. Awa Nana-Daboya.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have come to you to explain the progress we are making at HCRRUN and to gather your views on our approach,&#8221; she stated. She also called on the people of Ago\u00e8-Nyiv\u00e9 to pursue genuine reconciliation for the development of Togo.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7697\" src=\"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSC_0393-b-566x377.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"417\" height=\"278\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSC_0393-b-566x377.jpg 566w, https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSC_0393-b-390x260.jpg 390w, https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSC_0393-b-103x68.jpg 103w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 417px) 100vw, 417px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As in previous sessions, HCRRUN resource persons provided explanations on transitional justice before giving the floor to participants. Some sought clarification on the eligibility criteria for the compensation programme, while others called on alleged perpetrators to demonstrate contrition as a prerequisite for genuine reconciliation in Togo.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are told about forgiveness on the part of the victims, while those who committed these acts do not come forward to ask for it. That is what I do not understand,&#8221; one participant remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Land expropriation and the possibility of submitting new testimonies to the CVJR were among the other concerns raised by participants.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7698\" src=\"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSC_0307-b-566x377.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"414\" height=\"276\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSC_0307-b-566x377.jpg 566w, https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSC_0307-b-390x260.jpg 390w, https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSC_0307-b-103x68.jpg 103w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 414px) 100vw, 414px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The President of HCRRUN, Mrs. Awa Nana-Daboya, and the resource persons accompanying her provided appropriate responses to the various concerns, calling for hearts to be soothed and encouraging understanding and forgiveness. The Prefect of Golfe, Mr. Hodabalo Awat\u00e9, echoed this appeal, urging all Togolese to look to the future with serenity. &#8220;I have done my part.
