{"id":9732,"date":"2026-10-06T09:30:15","date_gmt":"2026-10-06T09:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/?p=9732"},"modified":"2026-10-06T09:30:23","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T09:30:23","slug":"hcrrun-strengthens-the-capacities-of-local-peace-committees-for-peaceful-municipal-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hcrrun-tg.org\/en\/hcrrun-strengthens-the-capacities-of-local-peace-committees-for-peaceful-municipal-elections\/","title":{"rendered":"HCRRUN strengthens the capacities of Local Peace Committees for peaceful municipal elections"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of its mission to promote national reconciliation and strengthen social cohesion, the High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening National Unity (HCRRUN) launched, on Monday, June 30, 2025, a capacity-building session for the <strong>Local Peace Committees (CLP)<\/strong> from Togo\u2019s 39 prefectures.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This workshop is part of the momentum to prevent and peacefully manage conflicts, as the municipal elections scheduled for July 17, 2025 approach. Its aim is to equip members of the Local Peace Committees so that they can be effective actors for social cohesion, dialogue and mediation.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In opening the proceedings, the President of HCRRUN reminded CLP members of the \u201cplural, lasting and complex\u201d nature of the mission entrusted to them: to contribute, in their respective localities, to promoting living together, preventing conflicts, and preserving peace, reconciliation and national unity\u2014precious assets which, as she stressed, \u201care never definitively secured\u201d.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just a few days before the official launch of the electoral campaign, this session comes at a strategic moment. The President of HCRRUN invited participants to fully grasp the stakes of this period, \u201ceminently fraught with risks\u201d, during which differences of opinion can sometimes escalate into conflicts that are detrimental to national cohesion.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Led by trainers experienced in transitional justice, mediation and non-violent communication, the training session favoured an interactive approach combining <strong>case studies, group work, role-playing exercises and the sharing of experiences.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants welcomed HCRRUN\u2019s initiative, which enables them to fully play their role as peace actors in their respective localities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of its mission to promote national reconciliation and strengthen social cohesion, the High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening National Unity (HCRRUN) launched, on Monday, June 30, 2025, a capacity-building session for the Local Peace Committees (CLP) from Togo\u2019s 39 prefectures.
