This introductory visit provided the Minister with an opportunity to learn more about the activities of the two institutions chaired by Mrs. Awa Nana-Daboya.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In her capacity as Ombudsman of the Republic, Mrs. Awa Nana-Daboya, accompanied by her two collaborators, seconded civil servants Mr. Lokoun Akp\u00e9louzim, Studies Officer, and Mr. Senyo Ahli, Financial Officer, gave the Minister an overview of the activities carried out by the Institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>She focused on the current situation, particularly the complaints submitted to the Institution and their processing. She outlined the various areas covered by these complaints, the results achieved, including cases that had been successfully resolved, as well as the challenges and obstacles preventing the resolution of the remaining cases.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 160 cases registered, only 28 had been resolved. The Ombudsman of the Republic pointed to the reluctance of certain ministries to cooperate with her Institution and presented prospects for action to ensure its effective functioning. These prospects include, among other things, strengthening human and financial resources and revising the Institution&#8217;s legal framework.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister expressed his appreciation and surprise at the achievements recorded. He encouraged the team of the Ombudsman&#8217;s Office and assured them of his willingness to support the Institution in implementing the prospects presented.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>With regard to the second institution, HCRRUN, the President and its members briefed the Minister on the Institution&#8217;s activities, particularly the victim compensation component launched in December 2017, which was continuing in line with the pace of budget allocations to the Special Compensation Fund. The members of HCRRUN also presented the Institution&#8217;s achievements, described as efficient and effective, as well as its short-, medium-, and long-term prospects. In addition to individual reparations, these include community and memorial reparations planned for subsequent phases of the process.
