The High Commission for Reconciliation and the Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN), in collaboration with UNDP-Togo, officially launched community and collective reparations on Saturday, November 16, 2019, in Dj\u00e9r\u00e9houy\u00e9, about ten kilometers north of Atakpam\u00e9.<\/p>\n
The President of the HCRRUN, Ms. Awa Nana Daboya, officially launched this component of the reparations program in accordance with Recommendation 54 of the CVJR, in the presence of the Representative of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Local Authorities, Administrative Authorities, deputies and local elected officials of the Ogou prefecture, and the Prefects and Traditional Chiefs of the prefectures of the Plateaux region.<\/p>\n
This component of the HCRRUN’s mission will consist of helping communities in conflict overcome their differences, particularly through the implementation of development projects of common interest. These projects will be designed with the effective involvement of all components of the communities concerned. <\/p>\n
Meetings will be organized in the form of listening and discussion sessions with representatives of the various social groups in conflict, administrative, traditional, and religious authorities, and elected officials from these different communities, as well as various social groups including youth and women.<\/p>\n
The locality of Dj\u00e9r\u00e9houy\u00e9 was chosen for this launch due to the community conflicts it experiences and for which the HCRRUN has already intervened to ease tensions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
