The High Commission for Reconciliation and Strengthening of National Unity (HCRRUN), in collaboration with UNDP-Togo, officially launched the community and collective reparations component on Saturday, November 16, 2019, in Dj\u00e9r\u00e9houy\u00e9, approximately ten kilometers north of Atakpam\u00e9.<\/p>\n
The President of HCRRUN, Ms. Awa Nana Daboya, officially launched this component of the reparations program in accordance with Recommendation No. 54 of the CVJR, in the presence of the representative of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Local Authorities, administrative authorities, Members of Parliament and local elected officials from the Ogou Prefecture, as well as prefects and traditional chiefs from the prefectures of the Plateaux Region.<\/p>\n
This component of HCRRUN’s mission aims to help communities in conflict overcome their differences, particularly through the implementation of development projects of common interest. These projects will be designed and implemented with the effective participation of all components of the communities concerned.<\/p>\n
Meetings will be organized in the form of listening and dialogue sessions involving representatives of the various social groups in conflict, administrative, traditional, and religious authorities, and elected officials from the communities concerned, as well as various social groups, including youth and women’s organizations.<\/p>\n
The locality of Dj\u00e9r\u00e9houy\u00e9 was selected to host the launch due to the community conflicts it has experienced and in response to which HCRRUN has already intervened to help ease tensions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
