These documents essentially summarize the points of convergence reached by the workshop participants. <span class=\"apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 12.0pt; text-align: justify; background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.5pt; font-family: Arial; color: #222222;\">These include, among others, issues related to the independence of the judiciary from the executive branch, the limitation of presidential terms, the electoral system, the management of electoral disputes, the control of appointments to high-ranking positions, and the declaration of assets by government officials upon entering and leaving office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.5pt; font-family: Arial; color: #222222;\">Furthermore, these points of convergence also concerned the referral of cases to the Constitutional Court, ethnicity, citizenship, cultural values, and the continuation of justice reforms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.5pt; font-family: Arial; color: #222222;\">However, regarding the political system, no concrete proposal was immediately made for the Togolese context, as it will first be necessary to define the content of the system desired by the Togolese people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.5pt; font-family: Arial; color: #222222;\">The national meeting held from July 11 to 15, 2016, aimed to create favorable conditions for the formulation and implementation of political and institutional reforms by fostering a common understanding of the concept of reforms, and an understanding of the spirit and letter of these reforms as formulated by the CVJR, among others, and achieved the expected results.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.5pt; font-family: Arial; color: #222222;\">Far from being a framework for the concretization of political and institutional reforms, this meeting for reflection and exchange, initiated by the HCRRUN, allowed participants to consider reforms well beyond electoral issues and political systems.
